Berlioz Benvenuto Clellini Overture Grieg Piano Concerto Prokofiev Symphony No. 5
Charles Dutoit, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducts this wonderful combination of masterpieces to give you an evening to remember.
Berlioz’ overture was originally the introduction to an opera but now stands alone as a favourite.
Grieg’s fabulous piano concerto, played here by Elisabeth Leonskaja, needs no introduction.
Prokofiev’s 5th symphony made him very popular too in his own time and was an iconic symbol of hope. We arrive outside the concert hall beside the river in the early evening with time to enjoy a meal in one of the many and varied restaurants in the vicinity before the concert.
On the way home we serve a glass of wine with a light snack on the coach.
