Wilton House, on the outskirts of Salisbury, has been the home of the Earls   of Pembroke since the reign of Henry VIII.  The house has been linked to political and artistic circles for many years.  It is a Grade 1 listed building  with an amazing art collection and 21 acres of parkland including a rose  garden and water garden beside a fine Palladium bridge and the River Nadder.   Lunch can be taken in the cafe.
