Autumn Colours in the Wye Valley
16 - 18 October

The Chase Hotel, Ross-on-Wye                                please note change of date

The best time to visit the Wye Valley is the Autumn time when seasonal colours enhance the already spectacular scenery.  Tintern Abbey occupies a special setting on the River Wye.  It was the first Cistercian monastery in Wales and the inspiration for poems by Wordsworth and Tennyson.

We will visit the mediaeval town of Ledbury with its historic Market House and street of mediaeval houses leading to the picturesque church.  There will be time for lunch in Ledbury before we go to Hereford for a guided tour of the Cathedral which houses one of the few copies of the famous Mappa Mundi.

We also visit the impressive ruins of Raglan Castle.
