Restaurant La Matelote is located on the seafront of Boulogne and is best known for its fish and seafood. La Matelote has a more formal style of dining and the seafood is always very good. We like to go once a year to enjoy its Saveurs de la Mer (Flavours of the Sea) menu.   This special trip to France begins when we board the coach.  Warm pastries and Bucks Fizz are served while we are on our way to the Channel Tunnel.  An aperitif is served on arrival with canapes.   This is then followed by an amuse bouche and three further courses,  accompanied by specially selected white and red wines.  The leisurely lunch is completed by coffee and generous petit fours. There may time to visit the Auchan hypermarket before making our way back to Calais. A light supper is served on the train back to Folkestone.
