Having had some very successful barge cruises in the last few years we are now offering another barge cruise in 2024.  We have an exclusive charter of Daniele, one of the CroisiEurope’s 5* Anchor barges.

All food is prepared and cooked by the excellent on-board chef and both lunch and dinner are 3-course meals accompanied by good wines.  All drinks on-board (wine, beer, spirits, fruit juices, water, tea and coffee) are included in the tour price and this also applies to all drinks from the bar except for champagne and wines from the special wine list.

This 7-day tour is spent cruising through the Saone-et-Loire region of France and the lovely countryside of the Canal du Rhone et Rhine. We will enjoy an excursion along the Burgundy Grand Crus Wine Route passing by  some of the finest and most prestigious of the Burgundy vineyards. We will visit Saint-Jean-de-Losne, the “capital” of canal barging in France and enjoy a guided tour of Dole.  Dole is perched on a beautiful hillside and is the birthplace of Louis Pasteur.  There is some lovely mountain scenery as we cruise towards Besancon and we have a guided tour of La Saline Royale, a listed UNESCO World Heritage site.  For those who wish there will be plenty of time to cycle or walk along the canal paths as we cruise between locks.
