Retrace the steps of royalty with a very special break in Scotland.  Edinburgh Castle is the back drop for the Royal Military Tattoo.  This unforgettable evening of music, ceremony, theatre and dance takes place on its Esplanade as part of the Edinburgh Festival. Beginning in 1950, it has now developed into a world-renowned and diverse spectacle including international performers and a wide range of music.  Nearby is the Palace of Holyrood House, the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland which is connected to Edinburgh Castle by The Royal Mile.  Here you can enjoy the palace and then find lunch at The Café at The Palace.  For over 40 years Royal Yacht Britannia sailed around the world taking her Majesty the Queen and her family to distant shores.  Now you can see inside this unique vessel and, through the audio-guide, experience the five main decks for yourself.  There are lifts throughout the boat. The Falkirk Wheel, the only rotating boat lift in the world, is an impressive piece of engineering.  We will be on the boat as the Wheel lifts it up from the Forth & Clyde Canal to join the Union Canal 35 metres above. Our main hotel, Carberry Towers is an 18th Century castle with 35 acres of parkland with deer and pheasants.  We will have two overnight stays with high quality hotels.
